Michael Hendry has risen to No.125 on the Official World Golf Ranking after another outstanding week on the Japan Golf Tour with a tie for third in the Taiheiyo Masters.
Hendry was in contention at one of the circuit’s most prestigious tournaments, but couldn’t match the stunning final round of 65 posted by Satoshi Kodaira. The Japan Tour OOM leader pulled away to reach 18-under par.
Hendry played solidly and carded only five bogeys over 72 holes. He was particularly effective on the par 5s where he was 11-under par in four rounds.
This resulted in another big cheque: approximately $NZ 145,000 to move Hendry to 15th on the Japanese moneylist with earnings of $NZ 640,000.
Also in Japan, Gareth Paddison and Harry Bateman have made it through to Final Stage qualifying in December, with Brad Shilton narrowly missing out.
